Florida Bay County WIC Department of Health Receives 2022 Gold Breastfeeding Excellence Award

Panama City, Florida– The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Southeast Regional Office announced that the Department of Agriculture’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program Florida Health in Bay County (DOH-Bay) 2022 Gold Breastfeeding Excellence Award.

According to the USDA FNC, the awards program was created to recognize local WIC agencies that have provided exemplary breastfeeding activities and promotion. The intention is to provide role models and motivate other local agencies to strengthen their breastfeeding promotion and support activities and ultimately increase breastfeeding initiation and duration rates. breastfeeding among WIC participants. The award is given at three levels of performance that build on each other – Gold, Premiere and Elite.
