Miami, Florida.— The Miami-Dade County Florida Department of Health (DOH) celebrates National Breastfeeding Month in August. In recognition, various Miami-Dade County organizations have partnered to host 2022 BreastfeedMIAMI. This year’s theme— Together we do great things! – emphasizes the power and impact of our collective efforts on families and communities. This happens through our daily efforts as we provide services, support and education to all babies, mothers, fathers and the family unit.
BreastfeedMIAMI is a community catalyst in breastfeeding advocacy, promotion and support to empower mothers, fathers, partners and families to breastfeed their children throughout Miami-Dade County. BreastfeedMIAMI envisions Miami-Dade County as a breastfeeding-friendly community with equity, diversity, and inclusion.
To celebrate National Breastfeeding Month, BreastfeedMiami will be hosting various events throughout the community. All events are free and open to the public.
- Family Breastfeeding Awareness DayFamily Breastfeeding Awareness Day will kick off National Breastfeeding Month and during World Breastfeeding Week. The event will host The Latch On, children’s activities, parent workshops, raffles and the Art of Breastfeeding exhibition.
