MVHS offers breastfeeding classes | Daily Sentinel

UTICA — Mohawk Valley Health System Maternal Child Services offers free monthly breastfeeding classes for expectant parents who have chosen or are considering breastfeeding.

Common breastfeeding concerns will be addressed and breastfeeding information and resources will be provided. Fathers are encouraged to attend.

Classes are held at St. Luke’s Campus in Allen-Calder Conference Rooms 1 and 2 at 1656 Champlin Ave., Utica. Classes are held every first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The next class will be on Saturday April 2. In addition to classes, MVHS offers the Breastfeeding Café as a meeting space for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to support each other, socialize and receive clinical support. Refreshments are served and an infant weight station is available.

The group meets the first and third Tuesday of each month from noon to 2:30 p.m. in the Centering Pregnancy Room, located on the first floor of the MVHS Faxton campus at 1675 Bennett St., Utica. The next dates for the Café are Tuesday April 5th and Tuesday April 20th.
